Cindy Ricksgers studied art and instructed at Michigan State University. She is truly accomplished in many media but has recently been creating interesting handmade paper collages.

The pieces have an interesting interplay of color, texture, and shape. With thought provoking titles such as "Enough of Hopefulness" and "What's Important" incorporated into the artwork itself, Ricksgers is asking the viewer to take a second look.

Ricksgers resides on Beaver Island, Michigan, located about 30 miles off the western coast of Northern Michigan. The unspoiled nature and quiet of her Island home has been a significant influence on her art, and has caused her to turn down teaching and gallery positions which would require leaving the Island.
